OSS News

An upgrade is being performed in each Landex County on Wednesday, July 4th.  This issue lists all the changes made to the Retrieval program over the past several months.  We are encouraging the counties to install a mouse to each Retrieval station to better utilize the features being added.

Program Enhancements

Search (Criteria) Screen:

A Date Options button and a Calendar button have been added to assist in entering dates.  The Date Options button lists the most common date searches.

Search Results (Summary) Screen
  • The buttons have been moved to the top of the screen plus some additional buttons have been added.
  • Report Options:  When pressing F7 or clicking on the Print Summary button, the Summary Report Options dialog box appears.

These reports have always been available; hopefully now they are less confusing.  All report choices produce the same information, the report is just formatted differently.  Choices include printing the search criteria or printing a double-spaced report.  The double spaced report includes separator lines between rows of information.

The same report choices are available to print highlighted rows  vs. the entire list.

  • Sorting the list:  The sort order of the column information may be changed from the sort order created by the original search criteria.  Click on the Sort button at the top of the screen.  The original sort order and the most recent sort order are listed.

Information may be sorted by up to four fields and may also be sorted in ascending or descending order.

Choose the columns to sort by and their order and click OK.

The sort order may be changed as many times as needed or the original sort order may also be chosen in the drop down list.

  • Resizing columns: The columns on the Summary Screen may be resized by finding the double-sided arrow on the column border and clicking and dragging.  This double-sided arrow may only be found in the column heading row.  Upon exiting this screen, the columns will return to their normal size.
  • Moving columns:  The columns may be moved in order by finding the square box with the double-sided arrow and clicking and dragging the column to the new location.  Again, this square box will only be found in the column heading row.  Moving column information does not change the sort order.  Upon exiting this screen, the columns will return to the normal location.
